    **The Default Wi-Fi password for all Wi-Fi-enabled Thinkware Dash Cams is “123456789”.

  • Follow our video tutorial below to register and set up the cloud features on Thinkware Cloud.

  • Connect via Wi-Fi.


    To see the Live View, playback videos and change the dash cam settings, you have to connect your dash cam to Thinkware Cloud via Wi-Fi.

     

    1. Download Thinkware Cloud from Google Play Store. If you have the app installed on your smartphone already, skip this step.

     

    2. Open the app and click “Dash cam connection is required” (or "Not Connected") at the bottom of the screen. Among the list of devices, click on your dash cam model.

     

    3. Click “Connect” on “Do you wish to connect via Wi-Fi?” section.
    Press the Wi-Fi button on your dash cam to activate Wi-Fi, and then click “Next” on the app.


    **Make sure that the green light is blinking on the Wi-Fi indicator and you hear “Connect to a Wi-Fi network starting with Thinkware from your smartphone” before you click “Next”.

     

    4. Go to your smartphone settings and click on the “Thinkware_xx” Wi-Fi network (e.g. Thinkware_F9) under Wi-Fi settings. Enter the default password “123456789” and click “Connect”.

     

    5. Confirm your connection to the “Thinkware_xx” WiFi network.

    Return to the app and now you're connected via Wi-Fi.

    You will hear "Connected to a smartphone."

     

    **Make sure that there is a solid green light on the Wi-Fi indicator.

     

    **If you have connected via Wi-Fi before, open Thinkware Cloud and click on “Not Connected”, then click on “Connect via Wi-Fi”. (Refer to step number three).

     

    **If the app still doesn't recognize the Wi-Fi connection even though Wi-Fi connection is confirmed on your smartphone setting, please close the Thinkware Cloud from running in the background and follow the below steps again.


    Connect via hotspot.


    To use the cloud features such as Remote Live View, Impact Notification, and Impact Video Upload, you have to connect your dash cam to the internet with a hotspot connection.

     

    1. Download Thinkware Cloud from the Google Play Store. If you have the app installed on your smartphone already, skip this step.

     

    2. Go to your smartphone settings and disable your hotspot connection.
    Enter your personal hotspot Wi-Fi password.

     

    **Ensure that your hotspot connection has allowed all devices to connect.

     

    3. Open the app, then click “Dash cam connection is required” (or "Not Connected") at the bottom on the screen. Among the list of devices, click on your dash cam model.

     

    4. Click on “Connect” on “Do you wish to connect via hotspot?” section.
    The app will ask you “First connection with the dash cam?”, click on “Yes, it is”.
    Press the Wi-Fi button on your dash cam to activate Wi-Fi, and then click “Next” on the app.

     

    **Make sure that the green light is blinking on the Wi-Fi indicator and you hear “Connect to a Wi-Fi network starting with Thinkware from your smartphone” before you click “Next”.

     

    5. Go to your smartphone settings and click on the “Thinkware_xx” Wi-Fi network (e.g. Thinkware_F9) under Wi-Fi settings. Enter the default password “123456789” and click “Connect”. Once connected, return to the app and click “Next”.

     

    6. Confirm your connection to the “Thinkware_xx” WiFi network. Return to the app and now you're connected via Wi-Fi.

    You will hear "Connected to a smartphone."

     

    **Make sure that there is a solid green light on the Wi-Fi indicator.

     

    7. Enter your personal hotspot SSID and password that you set earlier. Once entered, click “Input Complete”.

     

    Your dash cam will say “Disconnected from a smartphone. The device will find Wi-Fi hotspot.
    Turn on your personal hotspot”.

     

    Go to mobile hotspot under phone settings and turn on your mobile hotspot.

     

    **Make sure that the blue light is blinking on the Wi-Fi indicator.

     

    8. Return to the app and confirm your user ID and dash cam on the “Registration Complete” screen. Check the three service terms (LBS Consent, Driver Terms, CLOUD Terms) and click
    “Agreed to all”.

     

    Once you are connected via hotspot, you will hear “Connected to a smartphone”.

     

    **If you are connected via Wi-Fi, please follow the below steps.
    (Refer back to step number seven “Connect to the mobile hotspot”).


    **If the app still doesn't recognize the hotspot connection even though hotspot connection is confirmed on your smartphone (blue bar shows at the top of your phone), please close the Thinkware Cloud from running in the background and follow the below steps again.

  • Connect via Wi-Fi.

    5. Confirm your connection to the “Thinkware_xx” Wi-Fi network on iPhone settings.

    Return to the app and now you're connected via Wi-Fi.

    You will hear "Connected to a smartphone."

     

     

    **If you have connected via Wi-Fi before, open Thinkware Cloud and click on “Not Connected”, then click on “Connect via Wi-Fi”. (Refer back to step number three).

     

    **If the app still doesn't recognize the Wi-Fi connection even though Wi-Fi connection is confirmed on your iPhone setting, please close the Thinkware Cloud from running in the background and follow the below steps again.

     

    Connect via hotspot.

    The app will ask you “First connection with the dash cam?”, click on “Yes, it is”.
    Press the Wi-Fi button on your dash cam to activate Wi-Fi, and then click “Next” on the app.

     

    **Make sure that the green light is blinking on the Wi-Fi indicator and you hear “Connect to a Wi-Fi network starting with Thinkware from your smartphone” before you click “Next”.

     

    5. Go to your iPhone settings and click on the “Thinkware_xx” Wi-Fi network (e.g.Thinkware_68) under Wi-Fi settings. Enter the default password “123456789” and click “Join”.
    Once connected, return to the app.

     

    6. Confirm your connection to the “Thinkware_xx” WiFi network.

    Go back to the app and now you're connected via Wi-Fi.

    You will hear "Connected to a smartphone."

     

    **Make sure that there is a solid green light on the Wi-Fi indicator.

     

    7. Enter your personal hotspot SSID and password that you set earlier.
    Once entered, click “Input Complete”.

     

    Your dash cam will say “Disconnected from a smartphone. The device will find Wi-Fi hotspot.
    Turn on your personal hotspot”.

     

    Go to personal hotspot under iPhone settings and turn on your personal hotspot.

     

    **Make sure that the blue light is blinking on the Wi-Fi indicator.

     

    **Wait until you see personal hotspot connection in the blue bar at the top of your iPhone. Once you are connected, there is a solid blue light on the Wi-Fi indicator and you will hear “Connected to the internet".

     

    8. Return to the app and confirm your user ID and dash cam on the “Registration Complete” screen. Check the three service terms (LBS Consent, Driver Terms, CLOUD Terms) and click “Agreed to all”.

     

    Once you are connected via hotspot, you will hear “Connected to a smartphone”.

     

    **To reconnect your phone hotspot each time you are in the vehicle, simply turn on the dash cam with your ignition and ensure the hotspot connection is enabled in your iPhone settings.

     

    The dash cam is now automatically searching for your hotspot. Once you see the blue bar pop-up at the top of the screen or hear "Connected to the internet", open Thinkware Cloud and you are connected.

     

    Alternatively, follow the process below to reconnect.

     

    **If the app still doesn't recognize the hotspot connection even though the hotspot connection is confirmed on your iPhone (blue bar at the top on your iPhone), please close the Thinkware Cloud from running in the background and reopen. It will then recognize you are connected.

  • 1. Press the Wi-Fi button on the dash cam to activate Wi-Fi connection mode.

    **Wi-Fi connection mode will automatically disable if your dash cam’s connection with Wi-Fi does not last for more than 1 minute.

     

    2. Make sure you hear “Connect to a Wi-Fi network starting with Thinkware from your smartphone”.

     

    3. Turn on Wi-Fi connection in your smartphone settings and connect to the “Thinkware_XX” Wi-Fi network (e.g. Thinkware_068FF5). Enter the default password “123456789” and click “Connect”.
     

    **If you cannot find the “Thinkware_XX” Wi-Fi network on your smartphone, please reboot your dash cam and try to connect again.

     

    When you encounter the message “Add a Network-enabled Dash Cam”, it means that your dash cam has not been properly registered for the cloud features.

     

    **Password is only required the first time you try to connect.
    The device will automatically connect in the subsequent connections.

     

    4. If you are unable to connect with Wi-Fi or the password is incorrect, please reset the dash cam settings to factory defaults.

     

    5. After resetting your dash cam, your Wi-Fi password will be changed to the default password ”123456789”. Please enter the password to connect with Wi-Fi. 

  • This issue may appear on the “CLOUD” menu in Thinkware Cloud.

    When you encounter the message “Add a Network-enabled Dash Cam”, it means that your dash cam has not been properly registered for the cloud features.

     

    **This menu is only accessible with F800PRO, Q800PRO, QA100 Elite, or U1000 models.

     

    Ensure you have created a Thinkware account within the Thinkware Cloud, clicked the link in the confirmation email and signed in. Lastly, connect your dash cam to your hotspot connection.

  • Please download Thinkware Dash Cam Viewer (Mobile).

     

    1. Please download recorded video (Continuous/Incident/Parking, etc.) from Thinkware Dash Cam Viewer to the smartphone as follows. Go to “File List”, and then select “Continuous”.

     

    ※ If it is an iPhone, you can play the video choosing file name(02:54:36 AM).

     

    2. Play the downloaded video. Go to “File List”, and then select “Videos downloaded”.

     

    3. If video fails to play via the route above, use the Thinkware Dash Cam Viewer (PC) or another video player to check if the video is playable.
